Personal Information You Provide
When you use HeartsAlign, you may provide the following information:
- Profile Information: Name, email address, gender, date of birth, and location (city, state, zip code)
- Connection Style Assessment: Your responses to our 10-question connection styles quiz
- Happiness Profile: Your preferences across 8 categories (activities, lifestyle, entertainment, food, travel, gifts, romance, practical)
- Partner Information: Names, relationship types, and connection style results for people in your life
- Notes and Preferences: Personal notes about your partners, gift ideas, special dates, and activity preferences
Automatically Collected Information
We do NOT collect:
- Device identifiers or advertising IDs
- Usage analytics or tracking data
- Location data beyond what you manually enter
- Crash reports or diagnostic data
How We Use Your Information
Your information is used exclusively to:
- Provide Personalized Suggestions: Generate AI-powered relationship ideas based on your and your partner's connection styles and preferences
- Store Your Data Locally: All personal information is stored only on your device using local encrypted storage (Hive database)
- Enable Sharing: Allow you to share your connection style results with partners via QR codes or share codes
- Send Reminders: Deliver local notifications at times you specify (no server-side processing)
Data Storage and Security
Local Storage Only
HeartsAlign does NOT store your data on external servers. All information you enter is stored locally
on your device using Hive, a secure local database. Your data never leaves your device except when:
- You explicitly choose to share your connection style results via QR code or share code
- AI suggestions are generated (see Third-Party Services below)
Data Encryption
Your data is protected by your device's built-in security features. We recommend enabling device encryption
and using a strong passcode to protect your information.
Third-Party Services
Google Generative AI (Gemini)
When you request AI-powered relationship suggestions, we send the following information to Google's Gemini AI service:
- Your and your partner's connection style results (percentages only, no names)
- Your happiness profile preferences (categories and selections)
- Your location (if provided) for venue recommendations
- Any special context you provide (occasion, weather, etc.)
This data is sent temporarily to generate suggestions and is not retained by Google Gemini.

Data Sharing and Disclosure
We do NOT:
- Sell your personal information to third parties
- Share your data with advertisers or marketers
- Upload your data to our servers or cloud storage
- Track your usage or behavior across apps
We may share information only if:
- Required by law or legal process
- Necessary to protect our rights, safety, or property
- You explicitly request it (e.g., sharing via QR code)
Your Rights and Choices
You have complete control over your data:
- Access: All your data is accessible within the app at any time
- Edit: Update your profile, partner information, or preferences whenever you want
- Delete: Remove partners, clear your happiness profile, or delete individual notes
- Export: (Coming soon) Export your test results and data
- Complete Deletion: Uninstall the app to permanently delete all locally stored data
Children's Privacy
HeartsAlign is designed for users of all ages and can be used for various relationship types including family relationships.
For users under 13, we recommend parental guidance. We do not knowingly collect personal information from
children under 13 without parental consent. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information
inappropriately, please contact us at support@heartsalign.app.
